This is perfect for beginners! A fun INTRO class to the wonderful world of cartooning. In this 4-week class, learn about cartoon basics and some fun history of cartoonists. You'll focus on preparing your artistic understanding as a cartoonist. This class is also intended to help students understand the Print and FILM-Media PATHS for Cartoonists here at the Academy.

This fun 4-week Class is a great starter for any Beginner Cartoonist. It lays out the foundation of what it is to be a cartoonist and how to enjoy drawing cartoons for work and play.
From how to do it as a job, to simply how to draw a funny note for friend or family. . .this class is a great way to start and establishing some basic cartooning skills to start with. You'll be introduced to developing your drawing techniques, deciding on art materials, and preparing your artistic understanding as a cartoonist.
NOTE: As a great companion class, this CAN be taken at same time as Level 1 Cartooning.

Welcome to the wonderful world of cartooning!
The Level 1 Class is designed to introduce the students to a number of Cartoon/Comic projects . . . Cartoon Sketching, Greeting Cards, Comic Strips, Comic Books, Cartoon Logos . . . The hope is that the students are able to explore the different projects and get some experience trying some Cartooning pathways.
This fun 12-week class lays the foundation of what it is to be a cartoonist and how to enjoy drawing cartoons for fun.
As far as their drawing style . . .the goal is to work with their creative style while trying to encourage them to think like cartoonists and push their ideas. Students may draw on paper with pencil or can work digitally, as with an iPad/tablet. Whichever they are more comfortable with for their drawing style.

Students receive LIVE REVIEWS in Class for every assignment.
Cartooning LEVEL 1B is for Students that want to refine their foundation skills before moving onto LEVEL 2.
It repeats the lessons of LEVEL 1A( so some jokes maaaaay seem familiar. haha) , however new assignments are given to the returning student that are more advanced and push the student to accomplish more with the info and refine their skills. It is great for beginner cartoonists as they get a chance to revisit assignments and make improvements and build on their training. SPECIAL : This class is offered at a discount for the returning student.
Cartooning LEVEL 1B allows the student to revisit the lessons from Level 1A at a reduced fee. This is great for students that want to firmly establish their skills or retry assignments with new knowledge before moving onto Level 2.
This class is the same time as Level 1A.

Welcome to LEVEL 2 of your Cartooning journey! Building on the foundations from Level 1, this Level 2 Course will focus on more polished projects. From creating Cartoon Designs intended for products to share, to creating original Comic Strips and finished Comic Book Pages for for final print.
This next level will dig deeper into the history and heritage of Cartoonists and use longer assignments to help progressing cartoonists begin to develop and refine their individual unique styles. By learning more about established cartoonists, their crafts and their histories, students will study techniques to help guide and inspire their creative path.
This class also may ask you to create a cartoon based on a burrito or random shape. And really, isn't that what you dream of as a cartoonist?
